The Auckland Mako are the NZIHL's newest team, comprised of NZIHL veterans and up-and-coming future superstars, here to shake up the NZIHL for 2021 and beyond.
The team provides a pathway to the NZIHL by combining Under-23 players from around New Zealand with current NZIHL veterans who act as mentors for younger players.
The philosophy behind the Auckland Mako is to give Under-23 players an opportunity and entry point in the NZIHL to gain experience and confidence for their future years in the league.
