A tough battle tonight for the Auckland Mako against the Botany Swarm, though the final score doesn’t do the team’s huge effort justice!

Scoring highlights for the team included a power play goal at 9:15 in the first period by Ivan Dalmatau in front of the net, assisted by A.J. Spiller and another power play goal at 6:50 in the third period by Caleb Chamberlin, assisted by Jesse Allen, showcasing the team’s ability to make use of power plays when they are on offer.

Tonight’s game being only the second occasion the team has ever played together, the coaching staff were once again very impressed by the effort put forward by the under 23 aged players, as they continue to gain experience and ice time in the NZIHL.

Final score 6:2 in favour of Botany Swarm.
